How many ways can you eat a candy bar?

….one way definitely needs to be topping it AND stuffing it into chocolate chip cookie!

I absolutely love how this cookie turned out! The chocolate chip cookie mixed with Reese’s new Outrageous bar was perfect. Reese’s new Outrageous bar has a combination of peanut, milk chocolate plus caramel plus mini Reese’s on the inside of the bars, so there are fun pops of iconic colors of orange and yellow. The combination really makes it outrageous. I hope you love this as much as I do! Bad news is that it’s not launching until May 2018, but it’ll be worth the wait!

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/3 stick unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoon dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1 large egg, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup bread flour
  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons cake flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (I prefer to use Ghirardelli chocolate)
  • 10 bars of Reese’s Outrageous Bars, broken into smaller pieces (other another candy bar of choice)

Directions:

  • Shift together flours, baking powder, baking soda and salt into medium bowl and set aside.
  • Using paddle attachment to standing mixer, at medium speed, cream together butter and sugars until fluffy and light in color.
  • Reduce mixer speed to low and add egg, once fully incorporated, add in pure vanilla extract.
  • Slowly add in the flour mixture until just combined and then add in chocolate chips.
  • Take 2/3 cup of cookie dough and roll it into a ball and then flatten it with your palms into a round circle. Repeat this step to have two flattened cookie doughs (creating a top and bottom for the giant cookie). Each flattened round should come to 1 centimeter thick and about 5 inches in diameter.
  • Place about 3 broken bars of Reese’s Outrageous bars in the center of one flattened cookie dough. Place other flattened cookie dough round on top and pinch together the sides to the top and bottom to create a seal.
  • Take 1/4 cup of chocolate chips and 2 broken Reese’s bars and place on top of the cookie. May require some strategic placement and slightly pushing in for them to stay on the cookie.
  • Place cookies in the freezer for about 20-30 minutes or overnight (if keeping overnight in the freezer, be sure to wrap with saran wrap or foil).
  • Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper or use a Silpat.
  • When baking the cookie, place in center of the cookie sheet one cookie. Bake one at a time for 20-24 minutes – check on the cookie at 20 minutes.
  • Once out of the oven, allow the cookie to cool down for at least 5-10 minutes prior to moving to the cooling rack. The cookie is a bit fragile once out of the oven and needs to cool down a bit to allow it to set.

Enjoy!

Made this for my boyfriend for Valentine’s day, his nickname is “Cookie Monster”, and he gives it 2 thumbs way up! Of course, I didn’t have access to an outrageous bar so I stuffed the cookie with mini Reese cups, Reese’s pieces, and dark chocolate chips! Amazing recipe, thank you for sharing!
